Long term followers will be familiar with WOW!House already as this is not the first time I’ve written about it. It is my absolute favourite event in the Interior Design calendar. Featuring the work of 20 of the worlds best designers you are treated to a world where design dreams come to life, where creativity knows no bounds, and where every corner exudes wonder and inspiration.

Whilst travelling home and watching the fields whizz by out of the train window, my experience at the exhibition, really got me thinking; what makes a home wow? Grab yourself a cuppa and settle down to find out!

Entrance Hall by Victoria Davar of Maison Artefact

This gorgeously feminine entrance hall was gracefully dominated by a wonderful Oak Leaf chandelier that was a mere 3 metres in length.

Upon entering the entrance hallway your shoulders immediately relaxed as you breathed a sigh of relief at being home, at being supported and surrounded by beautiful items.

Victoria’s approach instils a quiet beauty, effortlessly pairing simplicity with the extraordinary.

The entrance hall sets the tone for the rest of a home and as such deserves to be a space of beauty.

Guest Bedroom by Alessandra Branca

For me, nothing says wow more than beautiful fabric and a gorgeous pattern. Add pink into the mix and you 100% have me!

Alessandra’s bedroom design cocoons you in its exotic linen print in shades of toast and rose, you want to leap into the bed and roll around in the luxury of it all.

I love most the use of the “Paisley” fabric from her Sringar collection not just on the bed but also the walls creating a sumptuous yet harmonious space that would elevate your sleep experience.

Courtyard Room by Emma Sims-Hilditch

A room can’t be really Wow without having practical elements and they are abundant in Emma beautiful boot room. Featuring a gorgeous antique dresser as a potting table and a dedicated dog room (with shower, bed & pantry!) this wonderful space would look right at home in our farmhouse renovation. The cheerful and uplighting colour scheme make it a perfect combination to spend many hours working.

Drawing Room by Chad Dorsey

Looking like a private members club but really having a welcoming homely feel, Chad created the most wonderful space again layered with pattern but with a light playful feel. The dancing butterflies on the ceiling are really rather wonderful and when balanced with the patch work cowhide carpet make for a really pleasing space.

With just the right amount of seating the lounge is lively and sociable whilst remaining deeply luxurious.

I’d love to know if you visited WOW!House this year and if you did, what did you think? Which were your stand out rooms?

If you haven’t yet made it and wish to visit, the event runs until early July and is well worth a visit.
